Enjoyable, Memorable and Personalized Services
The most important thing for me, as a Marriage Commissioner, is that you have exactly what you are looking for in your wedding ceremony.
Your wedding is a special event that should reflect your love and feelings for each other, and your own unique style. I will work with you to create and perform a personalized ceremony in the location of your choice. My goal is to support you and guide you through your wedding day so that it is enjoyable, memorable and everything you hoped for.
I am able to offer advice on different types of rehearsals and ceremonies in many locations around Manitoba. I have worked with many venues, wedding planners, photographers, musicians, florists and other professionals. I will ensure everyone knows what is going to happen in your ceremony, give cues and otherwise help you to have a well-organized day. I love meeting new people and I will treat you as my own friend or family. During preparations I will always be available to answer any questions you have.
I have a wealth of experience with couples of many cultural backgrounds and am open to performing ceremonies from a variety of belief systems (religious, spiritual, civic, etc.). I am an ally of the LGBTQ community, and welcome opposite-sex, same-sex and other couples. I will always be respectful of your wishes. I pay attention to details. On your wedding day, I take pride in providing you with the extra-special attention that you deserve. I am always prepared to help out — if someone needs a mint or gum, lint removed from a groomsmen’s suit, a boutonniere or corsage pinned on. At one wedding a groomsman passed me his tuxedo pants so I could sew a ripped seam! At another wedding I dug in the dirt to hide an orange extension cord so it wouldn’t show in wedding pictures.
I would love to be part of your so-special day!
WEDDING COMMISSIONER RATES FOR 2019/2020 SERVING WINNIPEG AND MANITOBA
Ceremony & Vow Renewal
I will send you a confirmation email so you know I am committed to performing your ceremony. Three or four months before your wedding date I will meet with you so we can talk about your ceremony and you will have some information so you can start to compose your ceremony.
I encourage you to send me any questions you have at any time and I will answer promptly.
Make sure to have a rehearsal, and your guests will remember your ceremony as being smooth and seamless! Everyone will know when to walk, where to stand, how to get to the signing table, how to walk out, and more.
Rehearsals are very important if you are having two or more attendants on each side and/or there are children in your wedding party.
Some couples who are planning a destination wedding or who just want to be legally married will have a short & simple legality ceremony. Please note, this ceremony is very short with no ring exchange or personal vows said.
You will each make two declarations and we’ll sign the marriage registration paper to make it official!
I do require a non-refundable $150.00 deposit to book a date.
I have 26 years of experience and many suggestions to help you have a choreographed and organized ceremony.

We can’t say enough amazing things about Colleen! We chose Colleen because she came highly recommended from our other wedding vendors. A wedding officiant is one of the most importance pieces of a wedding, and Colleen exceeded all of our expectations. The one thing we loved was the booklet Colleen gave us to help plan the wedding ceremony speech. We were able to put ours together in less than a day by “piecing together” the different parts. It was great that we could completely customize our ceremony readings and make it personal to us and our relationship. During our wedding rehearsal, she took control of how to organize everyone. She also organized the cues with the event coordinator and string quartet. She delivered the ceremony beautifully and we are so blessed she could be part of our day. We were able to relax knowing the important parts were in the hands of a seasoned pro. We met with Colleen several times over coffee and felt like she really took the time to get to know us. In a way, Colleen now feels like a close family member and we really hope to keep in touch with her. If you are looking for a wedding officiant, seriously look no further!

Colleen, Nathan and I loved working with you! I loved your detail, thoroughness and organization! The book you lent us which details each section of the ceremony with examples of wordings we could use was an absolute life saver. We had no clue on what we wanted to say or how we wanted our ceremony to go. With your professional guidance the process was so easy and seamless. I hope that when people search your Facebook page or Instagram they realize they found a true gem! No need to look any further people, you are in excellent hands when it comes to Colleen. Hugs!

Thank you so much for everything last weekend Colleen. I’m so glad we picked you to be our officiant. You made us feel so comfortable like we’ve known you forever. I’m excited to add the ceremony we created with a few of my wedding memories to have for years to come. In Colin’s words ‘I think she’s the nicest lady I’ve ever met.’ And we’re so grateful to have the memory of you marrying us that day.

We were very happy with what you did for us despite it being super last minute! I don’t know what we would have done without you. I don’t even think we can put into words with everything you have done for us. Thank you again from the bottoms of our hearts!

“We just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful ceremony yesterday. Everyone commented on how genuine you were and how it seemed we had known you for many years. You made an otherwise potentially stressful time worry-free. We knew we were in professional and caring hands. We are so glad to have found you! Thanks again!”
